Wolves shot at in Yellowstone NP?

Shots fired in Yellowstone, wolves may have been intended target

WYOMING – Park Rangers in Yellowstone responded last weekend to a report of a man shooting at wolves believed to be chasing his dogs.

Law enforcement received a report about a man allegedly firing a shotgun in the direction of wolves he believed were chasing his dog east of Sedge Bay on Yellowstone Lake along the East Entrance Road.

Law enforcement investigated the scene and found no evidence of injured wolves but they did find shotgun shells. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Yellowstone Tip Line at 307-344-2132.

Park authorities remind the public that, while it is lawful to carry a firearm inside the park, it is illegal to discharge a firearm in Yellowstone National Park. Also, a reminder that in the park, pets must be physically controlled at all times. They must be in a car, in a crate, or on a leash no more than six feet long. Pets are not allowed on boardwalks, hiking trails, in the backcountry, or in thermal areas.

Authorities are taking the incident seriously. Last year a well-known and highly visible wolf was shot and killed by someone at the north end of the park near Gardiner, Montana. A reward is still offered for information on that case.

Anything threaten my family or pets will be met with deadly force no matter where it is.
It is illegal to shoot with in city limits, but if some one comes in my house uninvited will never live to do it again. Sane goes for animals that can cause bodily harm.
