Do you have any evidence that moon phase impacts deer activity?

I really don't for Deer. Yet
I know I have had some amazing days fishing on the best moon phase days. I have also talked to other fisherman that swear by it.
It's said to affect the Hunting in the same way.
Lets find out.

I prefer the dark of the moon, but it's mostly anecdotal and I have no real evidence or real remembrance of success or failure otherwise.  I hunt.

This doesn't make any sense.
You say 10/28 and 10/24...
Sorry, I'm at work and only half thinking hunting at the moment. It's 10/24/18 that should be the hot day.
Fixed it.

Hunting in NC for eastern whitetail...you could set your clock by it.  If the peak was going to be at 5:15 in the evening, you better be in the stand at 5 because the woods would come alive right on schedule.  I lived and died by the moon phase and following those peaks...that's how I planned my whole season.  The limit on whitetail in NC was 11 deer...every year I tagged out my limit and most days I had a choice of what animal was going to get my arrow.  But the season was several months long.  Out here, you're limited to hoping that your week of hunting lines up with some of those peaks.

--This study says the lunar phase has no effect on the peak of the rut:  https://www.qdma.com/no-link-moon-phase-rut-peak/

--This article references a study that states moon phases don't affect deer movement:  https://www.fieldandstream.com/new-research-studies-connection-between-lunar-phases-and-deer-movement

--I've seen other studies that show that deer move most during the last quarter (of the moon phase), refuting that last study.  I'm too lazy to look for them.

--Solunar tables have been shown to be effective for fish, which are affected by moon phases on tides.  The effect on freshwater fish can be debated elsewhere.  Solunar tables are considered to be, at best, of questionable importance to animals on land.

I like to read the moon/rut articles just for fun.  If you believe the information and go hunt on a day that is supposed to be really good, and then you kill a big buck, you'll believe rut calendars work for the rest of your life.  Same scenario, but you don't even see a deer, you question the calendars, but you're not really ready to call BS on them either.  It's a lot like astrology to me, only I don't believe in that at all.  I wouldn't bet your paycheck on those hot hunting days.

My hunting camp is under the impression the moon phase only affects how much browsing they do under full moon light. More moon light= Animals active at night and in beds during the day. Less moon light= animals dormant at night and active during day.

Disclaimer: I have no idea what im talking about  :dunno:
The deer are exactly where you find them, and no where you dont!

right idea.   Generally during fall hunting seasons it has alot to do with rutting activity as well.

I don’t pay any attention to it. Seasons in wa aren’t long enough to plan for it and I just hunt whenever I can.
