2017 buck came home last night
« on: November 08, 2018, 09:05:00 AM »
Very pleased.  His neck and head are so big, he makes my other mounts look like scrawny yearlings.  This was just such a huge bodied buck, it was like a draft horse with antlers.

Nice!  Love the lower jaw on the plaque.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Wow the mount turned out great. Wasn’t that buck a late whitetail special draw hunt?  I seem to recall seeing the thread last November.

Yup.  Whitetail raffle tag.  I used my general tag to put down this young 3x4 that was wounded.  Not the kind of buck i would normally kill, but somebody had shot his knee out and his front right leg was flopping around like a limp noodle.  He needed to be put down, and i figured i could still hunt for a big buck with my raffle tag.  Pic of dink, and his blown out knee.

That buck has it all, mass, big frame, long bladed brow tines. That’s the kind of buck dreams are made of.
