I have been looking at the new EcoBoost V6 F-150.  Any good, bad or don't do it recommendations?

Twin-turbo 2.7 L V6 EcoBoost engine. It delivers 325 hp (242 kW) and 375 lb⋅ft (508 N⋅m).

or

Ford 3.5L EcoBoost V-6 engine

I have the 2.7L - couldn't be happier.  No issues so far (7500 miles)

I like mine but it's pretty new.  Plenty of power for towing and otherwise is as advertised.

This has been my concern as I have heard both good and bad about eco boost towing. You are happy with it?

Yes.  I tow a 26' model travel trailer (real length 30+) pretty regularly and have towed a large dump trailer full of fire wood.  It pulls it fine but you could tell the truck was a little light.  Both stopped fine with trailer brakes.

What are you planning to tow?

As of now I just have a little trailer so not worried about that but there is the potential for a 3 stall trailer with two horses

You’d be fine. Forgot to mention I tow a 2 horse trailer with 1-2 cows and it’s totally fine.

I've towed dual snowmobiles up and down Steven's pass, power to spare and the tow setting keeps the downhill speed in check, no need to ride the brake.  Brakes fine too (no trailer brake).

I sold lots of F150s with both 2.7 and 3.5 Ecos.
If someone sat you down in one and you drove it for an hour and they said quess which engine you're driving, you couldn't tell the difference.
The 3.5 will have more torque, especially at low revs, but both engines come with the new 10sp tranny and you'll never be at a loss for ratios.
If I was buying a SuperCrew shortbed and knew I'd never tow anything larger than a driftboat, I'd buy the 2.7L.
I bought a SuperCrew 6.5' bed, and it had the 3.5.  The 3.5L will have better resale.
3-stall trailer?...I'd get the 3.5 with tow package and trailer brake controller.

I've owned a 2013 3.5 Ecoboost SuperCrew 6' bed, 4x4, 3.73 gear ratio, max tow package and 36 gallon tank for almost two years now. I haven't had any problems with the truck and the best mileage I get is 21 MPG on a run from McCleary to Tacoma. Getting out past the Columbia heading east the MPG went up to around 24 MPG which gave me over a 600 mile range from almost a full tank. The only complaint I have about the mechanics of the truck is that there's a bit of delay from a dead stop. Put in a cubic yard of soil in the back and it's amplified. It seems to be the turbos spooling up faster to be the cause.

While it was at the body shop for repairs due to Seattle hotel valets not knowing how to park, I was given a 2018 F-150 V8. Leaving the lot, I was thrust back into the previous 17 years of my life when I drove a 2000 Chevy Silverado 4.8l V8 and that's when I realized, I should have just got the V8 and skipped the twin turbo hype.

Besides that, I'm still not like the console layout. Buttons and nobs are too small, even with the buttons in the steering I still would rather have the layout I used to have. When I wanted to adjust the climate control, there was a BIG knob.

I still miss my Chevy.

Overall, the Ford has not let me down.

Could be wrong but I thought you could turn that feature off if you wanted to, no?
