Got my Utah Mountain lion

Got lucky this year and drew a mountain lion permit in Utah this year. Had a great hunt. First time hunting with dogs and it was a blast. those dogs are awesome. hunting at 6500+ feet in elevation and it was 5 degrees outside. then a 1 mile hike and 2' of snow on the open hillsides kicked my butt. Hope to do it again someday.

Finally found a nice track after a lot of looking.

About half way there. This mountains are no joke.


Getting closer after we got to the tree and it jumped and ran another 400 yards before treeing again.

Congrats man.  Hunting with dogs is awesome and amazing to be a part of.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

9,000+ feet elevation....those dogs are some of the ultimate atheletes.  can not imagine running in a couple feet of snow at that altitude for a couple miles.  congrats to you on the cat---big props to the dogs.  I miss my hounds....
