Replacing a knight mk 85
« on: January 06, 2019, 09:58:26 PM »
I had an absolute gem of a knight mk 85 in 54 caliber get stolen from me in November of 18. All has been done as far as a law enforcement goes to track down all of my stolen items, but to no avail just yet. I was completely in love with that muzzleloader, it had a hare trigger and was deadnuts accurate. I am starting to get a bit of side cash saved up for another muzzleloader, and I have alot of 54 Cal bullets leftover. I'd like to find another mk 85 in 54 caliber if at all possible. Does anyone have a line on a place to find a hardly used one, or have one that they might be willing to separate with? It seems that knight doesn't make anything in 54 anymore, and I was absolutely in love with that muzzeloader, and I'd like to ideally replace it with the same model, if not another one chambered in 54 Cal.
It's a long shot.... Thanks

Have you searched the online auction sites?  I saw a few a couple months back when searching for a new muzz.

I have a Knight MK-85 in 54 cal. It has the stainless barrel & gray laminate stock. Not sure if I am willing to part with it. I have since switched over to 50 cals & currently use my Disc Extreme & Bighorn. I am the original owner & used it to take a big bull & a buck with it.

That particular MK85 used to be mine. I sold it to the current owner last year. He is a good friend of mine and takes meticulous care of his muzzleloaders.  He is a straight shooter. If you are interested in speaking to him let me know I will put you in contact with him.

I have been working quite a bit of overtime lately. I do have some big bills to take care of this month, harleyboss, it might take me a minute, but after looking over your friends muzzleloader post it definitely has my eye. That looks like a sweet setup for a good price. When I have the extra cash available I can get ahold of you.

I checked with the seller of the 54 cal MK 85. He still has it. Says he's not trying to hard to sell it. He did tell me that his price is firm.

Just curious here, why the 54 and not a 50 cal?  I've only owned the 50 cal and it seems you'd get better distance with the smaller caliber?  Novice here so don't beat me up too bad.
“In common with”..... not so much!!
