Literally any public land that has deer on the west side will probably have coyotes.

You can hunt them year-round, but you need to have either a big game or small game license: https://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/regulations/summary_hunting_dates.html

I don't even know of an area that doesn't have yotes. They're very common here. Just find and public or private land, and you should be good. I see them unintentionally almost every time I go deer hunting.

We have wolves here, so be sure you're okay with identification. There's a little more information about regulations here: https://wdfw.wa.gov/help/questions/17/Do+I+need+a+hunting+license+to+hunt+coyotes+in+Washington%3F+

Mostly, you can just hunt them without worry. I'm not sure what else you need to know, but I'll try my best to answer any other questions.

I'm actually going to move to Alaska this summer most likely. How do you like the hunting over there?

Curious where you go deer hunting. I don't think I've ever seen a coyote in the woods - only in my backyard, or when I'm driving somewhere. Nor have I ever called one in, despite a fair bit of trying. Maybe I'm just not as observant as I should be.

Saw one in the gravel pit in Lacey a few of days ago, less wary than our dry siders

Anywhere there’s lots of clearcuts and dirt roads you’ll find dogs
