2019 multi season elk
« on: February 20, 2019, 11:13:21 AM »
Results for hunter education multi season permits just came out.  There are 50 permits available just to the 900 hunter education instructors and I drew one.  Pretty decent odds and nice benefit to being an instructor outside of the fact that you are helping new hunters learn about what we all love.

Looking forward to the option of hunting bulls OTC archery and muzzy on the west side and all of the permit options this tag brings.

I haven't hunted west side elk in years and will have to figure out all the pay to play tree farm permit stuff.

Good news for everyone else I won't be in the drawing for the regular multi season elk permit so everyone's odds just got better there.  :chuckle:

Don't forget to put in.

Glad you got it and that you'll be able to make use of it, but for me I just can't justify the $182 cost. If someone has the time to hunt all the different seasons I feel it's definitely worth the money. But I feel like if I had a multi-season elk tag I'd have to give up my Wyoming antelope hunt that I do every year, and probably give up deer hunting for the year. I do have several points built up and figure when I'm retired I will have more time to hunt and hopefully will be able to draw it at that time.

Elk interferes with mule deer too much for me to get too excited, for the 182 price tag.
Congrats on the draw.   I hope you get to utilize it.   The last couple of deer ones I have bought I shot the deer the first morning of hunting.  :chuckle:

The conflict with other hunts is a problem.

I actually drew the general MS elk tag last year and didn't get drawn for the bull permit I was hoping for.  My buddy that I was going to hunt westside archery with ended up on a sheep hunt in Alaska and my kids drew deer permits that were more important to me than elk hunting.  I was able to fill my elk tag on a cow using it but didn't get to hunt nearly the amount of days I would have liked to.

My plan is to use it as much as possible this year.

Hopefully I have your luck Bone and shoot one on opening day of archery season.  :chuckle:

FYI when I logged on to the WDFW licensing site to see my results this message popped up.

Scheduled System Maintenance
The WILD system will be offline on Sunday February 24, 2019 from 2:00 AM PST until approximately 7:00 AM PST.

This will affect sales at dealer locations, online, and over the phone.  You will not be able to access your WILD profile during this time.

While the system is updating, there will be a message showing that the system is offline.  Once the update is finished, you will be able to login to your profile.

Please contact Fish and Wildlife at (360) 902-2464 with any questions.
