Turkey Hunting help
« on: February 21, 2019, 06:34:43 PM »
Hello,
I am trying to turkey hunt this year (2019) but need a little help.  I have all my own gear, gun, calls decoys etc. but don't know really were to start.  I have turkey hunted for years but because of my job I haven't been able to hunt out in WA.  I work in Special operations (I can prove this) and will be getting back from operation mid-april.  I won't have time to scout before hand and I don't really know where to start scouting.  Does anyone have an area that I can at least start doing some map recon, research or planning?  I don't mind driving all over the state but nothing is more heart breaking then setting up in an area with no birds or right on top of a fellow hunter.  I just need some help with areas and once I can find those locations, the kindness of a land owner or fellow hunter.  Thanks for the help and tips.

If your interested and available I am doing turkey  hunting clinics.  March 16th Federal Way Sportmans Wharehouse starts 1pm.  Outdoor Emporium Seattle March 30th time TBD yet, Black Diamond Gun Club Black Diamond March 31st start 11pm.  Your best bet for turkeys is the north east corner of the state.  Spokane north.  Lots of birds, lots of public land also lots of hunters.

Trying not to set up on another hunter on public land is a crap shoot, even with the best of planning
