Dressed and ready
« on: March 23, 2019, 09:38:56 AM »
to dance  Got all the majors installed. H-bird 8 gen3 si+mega, 2 scotty 1106B, miller marine track and accessories, add a battery kit, terrova ipilot and drotto boat latch. Been out a few times played mostly but one day fished hard for springers. No blood yet except my own  :chuckle: Soon I though! I hope  :chuckle:
Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

Very nice. Picked up my registration today. I'll be out tomorrow for a final break in tomorrow on my local lake.

I dont think you will get that main motor to idle down enough to troll with??  Even if you could you would be putting a lot of hours on it.  A 8hp Yamaha kicker will run you about 3200 (buy in Oregon no tax).  A new 115 yamaha will run you over 10k I'm guessing.  Plus gas use on a kicker is nill compared to trolling with your main.  Just my thoughts Im sure you thought it out.

Your satisfaction and ability to fish efficiently will skyrocket with a kicker if you plan to troll much.   :twocents:

If he plans on doing any significant salmon fishing there is no way he will last long without a kicker.  Just give him some time.  Fighting a fish with downrigger balls in the water on both sides, sea anchor in the back, hmmm no way it ends well most of the time
