Here is the guy I was talking about.

https://raethco.com/fishing/

They have a shop in Arlington you can pick gear up from or they will ship.  He was really helpful to me picking a few things out and letting me know what was working for him, I think he's on the lake quite a bit as every time I have been out I have seen his boat.

I saw a couple of boats on Stevens yesterday.  Anyone catching anything yet?

Due to high water lake is an entire no wake zone.  Anyone been out put putting for kokes? Getting antsy myself.

I just convinced myself to get some actual koke rods this year and that turned into a 3 hour rabbit hole.  The whole family is actually excited to get fishing season kicked off.

I went out on valentine's day. Started around 7:30 ended by 2. Not a single joke, only 2 trout. Water temp was 42'. I threw the whole tackle box at them. I think it was just too cold. :dunno:

I stopped by Greg's yesterday just to look around and they said a few fish were being caught but not many and getting a boat in the water could be tough depending on the conditions.

I was going to pick up some dodgers, but way too many choices.  Anybody care to share a few must have dodgers for Stevens?  There seem to be 3-4 brands and each has a dozen or more colors.

Mix em up. I am an impulse lure buyer. I do like the clown patters and purples. I try and stay away from a ton of flash. This year I'm going to really try and mix them up on styles.

everyone has their style of fishing and this is just my opinion..  by no means a statement..  LOL.  I don't spend a lot of time with dodger color as I do shape, size for desired action.  Winter I look for something slower with a little action to the lure and summer something with a little more life.  I used to just bend mine to change the action.  Now there are all types of shapes/sizes to do the same thing.  I always put more emphasis on lure color and keep the dodger color relatively simple.

I’ve tried this twice in the last week or so without so much as a bump.  I think I’ll go back to saltwater.

PS – Getting the boat in and out of the water couldn’t be any easier.  High water, nice ramp, no current, no wind, no waves, docks to tie up to.  Not at all like Mukilteo on low tide with a brisk wind from the Southwest.

Follow this link and start with the Pink Spatter UV and the Clown UV dodger. I always have one of those on at least one rod when fishing Stevens. I also use a few of the Rocky Mountain Tackle dodgers as well.

I'm seeing boats but just haven't the time to join them! What's the skinny?

I may give this another try next week if the weather cooperates.  Which part of the lake warms first?

I went out on Friday from sun up till 2pm. Never got a bump. Talked with other boats. Only 1 fish landed that day. Water temp was 43. Would have stayed all day but the wind picked up.

Sounds like the lake is still 10 degrees too cold.
