SURPRISE! DNR discover pass funds transferred
« on: May 01, 2019, 08:28:43 AM »
I see in the final budget $700,000 in Discover pass funds for the DNR was transferred to the general fund.  Where have we seen this bait-and-switch before?  Now the precedent is set.

OF COURSE it was!    The Jay Inslee money grab at its finest.   Probably some campaign stuff to pay for .....actually probably needed funds to move the homeless from Seattle to Yakima and Selah.    Ive seen a huge surge this last week.

I would think WDFW should've been fighting for that money.  They were getting 8% of Discover Pass funds from what I remember.  The pass for DNR lands was mostly being bought by hunters and fishermen.  The state parks were getting 84%, but I think that was mostly for the pass sold for park users.
Big Tex?

Probably going to use it for an illegal alien voter registration drive.   >:(

Freguson can find fault with law abiding citizens owning guns, but cant see a problem that is real and obvious.

No matter where you bought the pass the funds were allocated in the same way. 84% to parks, 8% to DNR, 8% to WDFW.

What actually made the budget: DNR will see lower revenues because $750,000 from Discover Pass revenues was transferred to the state’s general fund. The agency is still grappling with what this means.

Here’s the problem: Who’s watching out for hunters? We know the WDFW isn’t.

Washington state snowmobile association heard the legislature was trying to take the sno park/grooming funds which are generated solely by snowmobilers (sled tabs). They stepped up and saved the funds.

Why didn’t the wdfw or DNR step up??

A lot seems to be transferred to the general funds these days. I inquired about the funds generated to combat littering for illegal dumping. They told me that was transferred also. :bash:
