Went solo this morning and got my max on Blues. Ruffledgrousekins gave me the slip again. They fly like Maverick. Unpredictable and reckless!

Went with a buddy today,No grouse but went up a dead end road turned around and came back down and a 7' diameter old growth fir fell across the road. No cell service but someone came up the road shortly after and went and called darrington fire dept. since the forest service guys are gone in alaska fighting fires. Those two guys cutting and us to moving it out of the way took 4-1/2 hours from when we started.Amazing how much wood there is in one of those. We only cut a slot to drive through.
Thanks again to the darringtonfire dept. We would have been sleeping out there tonight otherwise.

And that’s why I always carry a saw.🤣

Good on the FD.👍

Got a limit of blues this afternoon after picking berries, no ruffs to be found.🤔

I always carry one in the winter.I am constantly clearing trees. My little gas can i carry wouldn't have even been close to enough. Plus he had a giant bar on his saw. I can't imagine trying it with my little saw.

Good year for grouse numbers! 13 blues and 2 ruffs for us through the first two days of the season (3 of us hunting). Probably saw around 35-40 birds overall.

To the person in the Gold diesel Silverado who thought it was ok to cut the breasts off the grouse and leave them in Falls creek next to the road where people get their water, GET A CLUE IDIOT!!

Nice pic Shaq!!! Good way to get that rifle started! As for the ahole at falls creek, that really blows. That’s a pretty high use area to be a moron at. Great way to get people pissed at hunters.

Yes I picked up the breastless grouse that were in the stream below the pool where people collect water. Evidently they started pulling feathers on some as they were all over then decided to just cut the breasts off. Plus from what I understand you are required to keep the wings on until arriving at home at least I do. That way ifstopped the wdfw can tell the sex and species.
