CVA Accura V2 ignition question

Went with son to shoot new ML with Triple 7 2ff and 100 grs of powder using CCI Musket caps. From the start we had trouble with ignition even after just firing. Used original nipple with gun. Was wondering if not enough flame getting to powder. Has anyone else had this problem, has anyone else used a different nipple. Any thoughts or ideas?

I used RWS musket caps for the NW Legal setup (am on 209 now) without issues.  Never tried CCI

Swap it to a 209 it’s about $30 and problem solved

I can't imagine its a problem with the nipple. If the cap is firing but not igniting the powder the problem is either week caps. Everyone I have ever talked to says the RWS musket caps are best and the only ones I've used. OR the problem is the powder....it is really easy to contaminate powder, it collects moisture if old, in humid environment, gets handled or touched with fingers or oils, barrel is not dry and clean, if you keep cleaning the barrel and leaving even a small amount of moisture in the barrel it can containment your powder.

If it was me I would buy RWS caps and try that, easy and cheap. Also I would think about the powder and making sure no oils or moisture was inside my barrel. But I would bet its bad caps.

cci musket caps are usually re enactment caps made for blanks.

I would still be weary of CCI caps. I use a traditional style hawken and routinely had problems with those either not igniting the powder or not exploding at all. Made sure nipple was clear and made other adjustments but they still had issues. I changed to Remington caps and they have always worked well.
