Nice fish, probably planted or my group planted those fish in the lake.

Amazing fish, seriously you could charge money to take people to those lakes!  I'd have to bring a pan and eat at least one of those bad boys.  My buddy and I tried to catch fish like that last year at a lake up high, tried everything, couldn't get them to bite.  You can see the fish swim by, huge!!

Do you use a float tube or just fish from the bank?  All on the fly?

Most lakes I go with a float tube but waders or wet wading for this lake get me far enough from the bank. This trip I packed waders but never put them on, it’s a long ways to take a float tube. And yep all on flies. There was a huge mayfly hatch so I only caught one on a dry because there were so many other bugs to eat, most of them that I caught were on a size 8 pats stone. 

Otherwise known as the #8 Catch-all. What a great fly.

Started fishing the pats stone last year, been using them all summer and it is one heck of a fly for sure.

Okay, so when I google Pat's Stonefly, all I come up with is a rubber-leg nymph.  That's not what you're talking about, right?  You're fishing dries, right?  Can someone post a pic?

Yeah that’s it, I use jimmy leg pats  stones which are the ones with knotted legs. And on this trip there were too many other bugs on the surface for the fish to eat, I only caught one on a dry.

Sometimes it takes something just a bit different, to talk them into biting.
 Looks like you have the winning recipe Birdgetter.  ( You're Fly reminds me of a Water Strider ).

Definitely one of the best multipurpose flies out there. As ubiquitous  as a Hares Ear nymph. Good for stoneflies, large mayflies, dragonfly nymphs, sculpin, small crustaceans; and just overall attractors.

Mountain cutthroat are right up there with golden trout for the best eating trout.  Its been years since ive tried my luck at them.
