Whidbey Island question???
« on: March 30, 2009, 11:09:49 PM »
I know that Whidbey Island is in GMU 410 which is firearms restricted.  I know I can't use centerfire rifles for hunting deer here.  The question I have is can I hunt with my Ruger Blackhawk 45 Colt on the island?

Yes.  As long as the gun meets the requirements for a legal hunting hand gun you are fine.

Older thread I know, but I just got here.  I live on Whidbey, little south of coupeville, and I have seen some respectable bucks around.  Definately bigger than a dog, not any kind of bruisers though.

i was stationed up there for a couple years, there are some nice big deer on the island unfortuatly most that i have seen or on the parks,, fort ebie namly, though when coming in on the twenty before deeception pass the is a large feild north of pass lake and one year i would see the same buck in that field everynight. he was n o monster but very respectable 5x5 i imagine somonegot him. they are there for sure and i'd imagine the people who say the deer there are small probly dont know to much or spend much time out there.

:yeah: A few years ago a friend of mine was dropping off his "Island" deer at the butcher and another guy was dropping off his deer at the same time and commented about "Island Deer" being no bigger then dogs....You should have seen his face when my buddies deer was a 140 lb 4x4 (hanging weight) and outweighed his deer by 30lbs!
