7 goats killed in Duvall last night.
« on: August 04, 2019, 12:43:10 PM »
7 goats were killed up Big Rock Rd in Duvall last night.  2 of the goats are gone. The other 5 were left in their pasture. Earlier in the evening in the same area, 3 cougars were chased out of a pasture after stalking a miniature donkey. WDFW was called out this morning and confirmed it was a cougar that killed the goats but declined to chase or track it/them at all.

This is exactly why people are / need to be handling things themselves quietly when at all possible.  See a predator near livestock, pets or children? Just SSS!  Now these cats are going to do this crap again, and wdfw is to blame.

Got some advice from a knowledgeable forum member and shared with the lady here. She doesn’t seem to want to do anything further with WDFW because all of her animals are dead now except her chickens. Her husband was burying the carcasses.

Rather than complain after an incident happens the landowners should be proactive.

Exactly. Quit calling and just take care of business. If the truth be told, a wdfw enforcement officer would rather you took care of the problem yourself. Once you call in there is a record and you best leave things be. I shoot all kinds of critters that mess around my place.

They're getting closer to Seattle. WDFW will act when some of the homeless addicts get killed.

They got 5 more goats a week later at another farm about 1/2 mile from my place.  Again no response from WDFW.  I don't call WDFW.

Pretty sure we're up to 15 now and all right in that same area.

Gee, it happened again? Im so very shocked, who could have predicted that?  Well im sure this time was the last!  No way will there be even more depredations from these cats.  Surely after killing a dozen or so goats theyll now move on to kill deer, but of course only the old, sick and injured.

Getting my kitty deterrent all ready to go.  Going thru my trail pictures again/slower.  Got a cougar vs skunk faceoff.   :yike:  I've had a few bobcat, but this is first of the cougars.  Maybe why the deer have backed off.
