ten days to go!
« on: September 18, 2019, 10:01:40 AM »
To my fellow smokepole pilgrims,

Good luck, everyone!  I hope your range practice has been good, and you are headed for places with good critter activity.  Let's hope a few of them keep the appointment on opening weekend!

Cheers, Mark

Just wanted to get some opinion- here is my last target paper- it is a standard pistol target. I had been hitting slightly right, now slightly left after adjustment. Is this about standard performance from the positions listed? 3 shots from 50 yards prone, one from fifty yards offhand, and one from 125 yards prone.

Lots of variables so it's hard to say.  What are you shooting and what's your load?

Lots of variables so it's hard to say.  What are you shooting and what's your load?

Knight Mountaineer (Williams FPS peep, factory issue red fiber optic front bead with six-o'clock hold), 110 grains of Triple-Seven FFG, 300 grain Knight Bloodline .50 cal (bullet caliber .452).  Getting about 1850 feet per second.

Awesome shooting, Jake!  That looks really tight.  What is your set up?

And 4x4, Kellama, and Bullmoose, I couldn't agree more. It is an awesome time to be out in the woods and mountains.  Out here, our deer herds are doing much better than the last 3-4 years, fortunately.  A couple mild winters and the mild summer here in SE WA have really helped them.

Getting more excited each day!

Is it a .45 cal?
