The assault weapons ban may fall flat on its face. There is a group in California challenging it based on the heller decision and Scalia's opinion on not being able to ban a weapon that is "in common use at the time." AR-15 is in common use being that it the most commonly use semi auto in the country.
Figured this thread would be a good place to ask. Anynody have a link to that online class b.s. i need to do to buy a semi auto now?
Problem is not enough people vote. I vote every time, hear people complain and ask them if they voted sometimes they say no. Come on people
I vote in every election. I am a 2 subject voter 1) pro gun 2) anti tax. Beside my obvious objections to this clown what make me more upset is an AG who is pushing new legislation. That is not his role and goes against the whole principle of separation of powers.

Come on peopleThe real problem is that King county is basically a protectorate of California. Oregon has the same problem. A few rural counties outvote everyone else. What we need is a new gun rights organization for the northwest. The NRA has basically abandoned the west coast. They stopped fighting Democrats in California and now they don't care about us either.

Like it or not the media has successfully convinced the voters that the NRA is the problem. In fact to our emotionally laden voters an NRA rejection is equal to an endorsement. We need a different angle. Maybe a sportsmen focused group.
THE SAF has nothing to do with the NRA...........did you look at the link I provided? It was founded by Alan Gottlieb, and is based in Bellevue, WA. I have met and talked with Mr. Gottlieb through the Washington Arms Collectors, and he is very dedicated to preserving and protecting our 2nd Amendment rights.

That's enough for the media and anti-gun groups to work with. I also don't think the lawsuit is well thought out. Sorry.
No offense intended, but "hoping" that another organization is going to stick up for your gun rights in Washington is a bit naive. The SAF has had many, many legal victories since it was founded in 1974. Other than the NRA and the SAF, nobody is going to bat for gun owners against I-1639. Our gun rights in this state are going down the crapper, and will continue to do so. As long as Inslee and Ferguson continue unabated in their quest to deny us our rights, we only have ourselves to blame if we don't help those fighting on our behalf. And if you things are bad now...................just wait.

And if you things are bad now...................just wait.No offense taken. I'm well aware that our state is following the path of California and I'm not happy about it. This is why I don't think the current strategy is going to work. The NRA has lost just about every lawsuit in California.
Polls have shown that the majority doesn't understand the intent of 2A. This includes many gun owners. The NRA has done nothing to counter this. They lavishly spend on executive salaries and perks while doing nothing about the indoctrination problem. They just aren't good at countering what happens in the schools and media. I honestly don't think the executives even care about AR-15s. Everything they do tells me it isn't a priority for them. I think they assume the west coast will ban them and they don't care. So this is why I think we need a new organization. It's not just about 1639. We don't have an organization that is countering the media. The NRA just yells about a bill being unconstitutional when the majority doesn't understand what that really means. So they aren't going to care if a judge basically says "nah" without an explanation. The media has also convinced the public that the AR-15 is the problem. The NRA never points out that AR-15s aren't even used in 1% of homicides. They don't have the guts to point out that most gun related homicides occur in about 12 Democrat monopoly cities. Most of the US is no more violent than Europe. But the NRA doesn't have the guts to point out the truth since it is politically incorrect.
You seem to think you know a lot about what the NRA does and doesn’t do, and what they think and stand for. Lots of anger and vitriol in your anti NRA posts.
Why don’t you just go help some pro gun organization and quit bitching about the NRA.
You are doing nothing to help keep our 2A rights.

Why are you defending Wayne LaPierre who is clearly just lining his pockets? Or do you think he deserved that million dollar pay raise? Is the NRA winning?
