Swarovski binos

Well, I am finally looking at purchasing some new binos and I am set on buying swarovski’s.  Looks like there is quite a bit of price difference between the el’s and the SLC’s.  My question to those of you that have a pair of swaro’s is there a huge difference between the two?

Never looked through SLCs, but ELs are the best glass I've looked through. Just bought some new 10x42s since I've been hunting more open country. The 8.5x42s are great, just wanted a little more mag.





Selling mine for $1800 once they get back from Swaro for a checkup and cleaning.

Hard to say because I have 10x42 EL and 15x56 slc. SLC are really nice.  But big.  I don’t have two of the same size.  But clarity between the two seem the same.

Thanks for the reply’s so far.  I have been doing a ton of research through out the years but I would rather hear it from those of you that actually use them in the field.

Tagging

I use an older pair of SLC’s and love them.  They are heavier than the new models.  I have never used the EL’s.   Not 100% sure, but went the lenses cut differently on each and designed for different viewing.

I had El’s for several years and a few years ago upgraded to EL range, hated carrying 2 optics.

I spent an hour or so near dusk ish looking through both el and slc  10/42 last fall. Ended up leaving with the slc. I actually like them better in the time I used them.

I got the SLC’s to save a grand and avoid potential “field flattening” issues some people have with EL’s.  I do wish SLC’s offered 12 power like ELs. 

Some people do like SLC’s better.

I just recently bought a set of 10x42 el’s. I haven’t looked through SLC’s but love the EL’s.

I got them on sale and used my cabelas points to get them for almost the same price as SLC’s.

I went through a bunch of glass before deciding on the 10x42 el. The difference seemed negligible in optical clarity to my eye. The El was slightly brighter to me, and the overall brightest I used. That and the edge in ergonomics and weight lending to longer and better glassing sessions, all led me to choosing the top dog. Both will serve well tho!

Yep, once you start using awesome glass, you are pretty much screwed because it makes everything else seem like you're looking through a friggen screen door.  Good optics will ruin you from ever using cheap stuff again.
