Blacktail Sheds
« on: January 21, 2020, 08:44:54 PM »
Might as well keep procrastinating working on my basement. Blacktail sheds are my favorite to find, without a doubt the toughest of the horns to be found in WA. Never picked up any big sets, that 4 point is nice and heavy though wish I found the other side. Was real lucky on it, was snow on the ground and just a couple tines poking out.

I don’t think I’ll ever beat this guys. But it’s really a bench buck not a true blacktail.

Nice find regardless   What do you figure that missing chunk on the one side is from , busted sticker point or projectile ?

It appears that probably in velvet it broke off where the main beam split. Sadly.. if it was symmetrical to the 14 point side it would have been around the 195” mark. But that 2 point palmation is wider then my hand. Would love to have seen whatever was there.
