Cougar sighting in Kitsap
« on: February 18, 2020, 07:51:10 AM »
I've been operating game cameras around my place for a couple years now. I see lots of coyotes, and occasional bear and bobcats and racoons.  This is the first time I've spotted a cougar in my area though.

I know this is no rare sighting for some areas of the state, but it is new for me.

There are definitely a few around.  I live north of Poulsbo and we've had them in our area before.

Years back there was one on the bangor base, hanging out near housing.  They had to get extra security and keep people inside.  When bears would be spotted, the base would close down certain roads and marines would use the vehicles instead of patrolling on foot.
