Gold Panning in Washington. (How to stake claims)

So here's a random question. The process to actually file a claim, seems alittle difficult.  Anyone that can dumb it down from me?

Also, is it possible to purchase old placer claims? Maybe someone gave up or lost interest? Not quite sure how it works still. If there is, where can I find them?

On a side note.... Took home one Tupperware bowl of dirt from a river someone recommended me to, Long story short... GOLLDDDD!!!!!!
and a few other colors, either silver or some other type of silver colored metal. Not much but I'd say maybe 20 flakes for a sandwich sized tupperware from a random spot, might be worth getting back to once this quarantine lifts.

Yes you can purchase placer claims from the claim owners and if three is a claim has been declared inactive you can file on it. But you have to act quick because others will

Used to be able to find a list of active and inactive claims on LR2000 but as I said before Not sure as I have not used that program for 8 or 9 years since I have had my 2 claims.
Yes it was a bit confusing navigating through the program but the info was there.

Man I have been AT IT over the last few weeks. I can basically find nothing, Western wa is rough. Only solid spots of gold I found were out of a specific creek near Randle. I wont get into specifics considering there was two other old men there panning the creek/camping when I showed up. After they left I kinda snooped around, It looks like they were digging way under a big rock the size of a VW bug. Musta been something because it was a significant size hole.

Now that I think about it, Waddel Creek up at Capital forest. Heard a few thing's,  couple buddy and I went up their and actually  ame out with a few specs of gold. Was about 6 years ago or so, but may be worth looking in to some more.....


Morse Creek, on the east side going down from Chinook Pasz on the east side,  going up towards  Placer Lake would be another area to look at.

Smossy, Waddel cr capitol forwst has tiny amounts.  Rumor is Kennedy cr is better.  I have found specs flour in both.  Deshutes does have gold...  I have made a BB sized nugget from a days of panning it.   Flour gold. Deshcutes Falls gorge was barren but a cool visit, thinking flood water scours it clean?? below falls a mile or so flour starts to appear.  It isnt enough to matter but fun to pan.  I used a Blue bowl to classify flour golds.  Works but painfully slow.  Head up Republic area on Nat forest lands, mines all over in them hills.  Quartz, shafts etc.  You can find silver n gold.  Hardscrabble mnt......  Silkamein river is good for dredging, east of Tonasket.
