Swarovski BTX?
« on: April 14, 2020, 03:28:26 PM »
Looking at upgrading my spotter, anybody have one I’m looking at the BTX 85. Is it as awesome as it seems like it would be?

In the right country, they are amazing.  I’ve had a BTX 95 for a couple of years; game changer for sure.  I wouldn’t buy one without the 95mm objective though.

I’ve got the STX, BTX and 65/95mm objectives and am equipped to battle any landscape.  If you can swing it, I’d recommend that set-up.

I also have the 1.7x extender which I have never used in 2 years.  Might save yourself the $300 if you were thinking about it.

Hmm I guess it is worth the extra 300 to go to the 95 it’s only 9 oz heavier to.

I have the same set-up as jjhunter, but use the extender all the time, it really is amazing when setup with 20-60 eyepiece and 95 obj when digiscoping…. have used many different tripods because of the weight of the unit, but keep going back to Outdoorsman when having to pack, Slik when not packing. Slik works good, just heavy, have used Slik for Doctor 30x80's for years before Swarovski BTX came out....
You won't beat the Swarovski BTX IMO.
