If there are no youth antlerless Elk special permit tags to be drawn can the kids just put in for the general season special permit tags for elk?
My 9 yr old son earned his hunting license this past February...
He is hunting modern rifle. Thanks

Yes they can apply.

He could only be entered as an adult. You could not use youth points in a general category. Should he not be drawn by 16 the youth points are gone forever.

As a youth, he can apply for youth special permits.

As a hunter, he can also apply for the other special permits.

He absolutely can do this.

They are separate categories and points are tracked separately.

Good luck  in the draw.

In addition you could be accruing him points in all categories while applying for youth tags and he would have a decent amount of points under his belt when he's done with the youth categories.

Looks like 20 of them this year.  My daughter drew north Yakima in 2018.

New regulation packet should be out soon .
Will show any New permits or old ones taken away.
