Inslee is going to drag the fishing and hunting shut down as long as he can. It already should be open, what will be different may 4th?

I 100% agree with both statements and am 50/50 to whether it opens or not.  If it doesn't open, WDFW, State Reps, Inslee and everyone else I can get a hold of will get an ear full.  This has got to end....and should have ended a couple weeks ago.
Jrbel, maybe it would be prudent to call and email the county health department officials in Steven's, Pend Oreille, Okanogan, Ferry, Pacific, Callam and Grays Harbor counties. That's your stiffest opposition to welcoming all of the visitors from the greater Puget Sound region.  An educated and holistic view of the shutdown and reasoning would serve all advocates of reopening well.  :twocents:

Theyre already getting visitors. Its not like no one is taking advantage of the time off work.

Up around Greenwater last Thursday I seen I don't know how many people camping and hanging out by the river. The river was busier than it is on a summer weekend with 10-15 cars piled into one spot. I get it - its Greenwater and not those counties, but if its happening there I'm sure its just as bad in those counties.

I wonder how many turkey "viewing" camps are set up in the forests around Chewelah/Colville? I'm sure theres some guys hunting coyotes/mountain lions with shotguns.

My point being - its happening anyway. I don't think officially allowing it is going to cause a flood of people because frankly, not very many people are following it anyway. Especially not other(hikers/bikers/etc) users of the forest.
I tell ya I was getting firewood ,around the chewalah area and the woods are pretty busy 😃

Wonder how many of them are hunting coyotes with a shotgun - and not locals 😂
I couldn't tell ya ,but I seen about a dozen sxs,few pickup, two four wheeler ,and this was before noon which is about when my truck was full of wood. There where more people out in the woods then normal,I believe it's the we are breaking the rules isn't this cool crowd.

Sounds like bear season will be opening back up, but you can't camp.

You guys with spring bear permits hit the jackpot this year. You've only lost the early part of the season that is mostly unproductive anyway AND you are now having your season extended to June 30. That's two more weeks for the east side tags and a full month for the west side tags.

On state land. But they can camp on National Forest. Or on the west side probably stay in a motel.
