Nice bears all - congrats!

Stew, when did you start your daughter with her rifle?  My girls have shot bb guns but I'm thinking I need to up their game!

Hey ganghis, I started both my girls at 5 with a savage rascal 22. Then my oldest at 7 with a 10-22. Then recently over the last few months with a savage axis .243. She's only 64 pounds, so it hits her pretty good. I would only shoot about 5 shots with the 243 and quit because I could see her start to anticipate the bang. I ordered that 6.5 creedmoor on July 5th and wasn't able to pick it up until last Thursday night. So I sighted it in and set it all up Fri night before the hunt. Sat mornings shots at that boar were her first time shooting it. It is much better for her to shoot than that axis. I very happy with the purchase.

My son shot his first bear the night before last. 25 yards with the .243 did the trick. It won't let me post a picture for some reason.

Any bear is a good bear! Congrats everyone!

P.S ridgefire my first bear was with a .243 at about the same distance and it sure does gets the job done.

Grats but are some of those posted now Oregon bears or...? Seems to me Washingtons bear season won't start Until Sept? Or are they late spring posts?
Anyways nice!
