A good article overall, accurately pointing out the problems, but i take exception to this part.

"Nor do we understand why the state doesn’t freely share whatever information it has about the location of wolves with ranchers. "

Wdfw does in fact provide access to tracking collar data to ranchers in wolf areas, provided they play along with the departments bs non lethal deterrent games, so this quote is really disinformation in my view.  The rest of the article is pretty much spot on.

True, but helpful only if the packs have collared wolves in it.  WDFW bios tell me there is only one collared wolf in the Blues.  That's one wolf in 4 packs.  WDFW does not accurately know how many wolves are in the Blues.

If they need help they should offer a bounty. Pretty successful in the old days. No wolves, no problems.
