Hunted it last year with my sons and father in law to burn points. It was tough. We mainly saw small bucks like spikes and forkies. I wouldn’t go there until the herd recovers.
Thanks guys. Always like to hear that kind of first hand info. I have been reading and a lot of the guys that hunted it last couple years said they were not great deer numbers. Still a few solid bucks but not the norm. This years moisture is looking great for most of Oregon so thinking there should be some good horn growth for critters. I have 5 points for deer so being selective on burning them. Yet still a few years probably from my elk tag I hoping to get so I still am buying a license and can keep building points. I have enough for most hunt more then enough so Kinda stuck in the middle with to many points or not enough for the majority.

Awesome info I am not looking for huge. Just a solid buck will always work for me. Nice to know the big ones are around but if I can get a solid 150/160 buck that will be just fine by me. I talked with the bio and got a bunch of good info. Seemed like a strait up guy. The moisture this year is way high for a lot of areas and horn growth should be killer this year. I have about 30% chance this year so I tossed my name in that hat so we shall see.

Spent a few days chasing muleys in the run in the Owyhee's last year. Definitely not impressed with the deer numbers there nowadays.
Find the remote chukar areas of the unit and youll find some good bucks. I know some guys who chukar hunt it every year on the opener and they always kick up a good buck or two.
