Bear attractants?
« on: May 22, 2020, 08:33:41 AM »
Does WDFW consider using bear attractants (ie bear jam and things that smell great for bears) baiting? I posed the question to WDFW a while ago and got crickets back. Not sure if anyone on here uses attractants knows if its considered baiting or not. If not considered baiting what are you guys using?

THanks

Yep, I have been told by a fish and game officer that even something like Anise oil that is just a liquid Is considered dating. No sent allowed at all. So basically the only way to attract them is to find natural food sources that they are already using like apple trees or other crops but they might be hitting.

As long as it's naturally placed.....where the deer fell and was dressed....can't be "placed".
