Is it against site rules to post names of places?

Just curious as I'm new here and I've seen posts disappear, and all of Baseballstuds threads locked.

No, it is not against the rules.
Those locked threads were probably because of drama.

I was asking cause a post of mine was removed from his most recent "thank you post".  There certainly wasn't any thing wrong in it, it's just gone though.  Is it common practice around here to just delete posts with no real reason or do they all just disappear when a topic is locked?

It actually takes quite a bit to have something locked/deleted, if that is the case you can rest assured it was justified.

The comment was made because it is one of my spots. I have hunted that area for several years, and can honestly tell you that i have never once ran into anyone in this spot that was posted and would like t keep it that way. Im ok telling people and sharing areas with people, but i dont want to share information like that to the world wide net......

Information like that should be given to friends, not just some guy that comes in that no one knows and given freely.....What i saw was BS.......that is why i posted, please dont give that stuff freely to just anyone, and if you are....PM it, dont reply it.....

remember if you dont know how to use the PM function ask someone....or maybe someone should make a new opic as to hwo to use it........ :bash:

its common sence.......

My post said something to the effect of "if it was around the city of Spokane than odds are it's not a secret, I mean hell anyone can say yeah, theres elk at 3 Rocks, behind Newman Lake, or on the mountain itself.  But that doesn't mean folks will find them."

If that is what you mean by "it takes quite a bit to have something deleted" then I'm confused, and don't understand who would have felt the need and justified deleting something I chose to post.

That is why I was asking.  Seemed odd to me that someone would feel that something of that nature is not allowed.

So I read into his post two things...

1.  Someone pissed him off at the location so F. U.
2.  He is a real nice guy and likes to share.

I have posted turn by turn with pictures of an area that I had issues with.  Even handed out how the elk moved and the escape routes of the elk.  Why...  Because the land owner's kids thought they would create a mile buffer from their property on a Timber company property.   Since they were pointing guns and I was alone, well the best way is to give them more people then they could deal with.  They were using intimidating tactics so broadcasting the location and show pic's the animals that came out that area is the best solution.  Yes, it brought lots of people because it is an area that is close to town.

You are right there were so many people on that property the kids threw the hands up on the buffer idea and the intimidating ways, and kept to their property and focused on keeping the many, many hunters off it.   Were they pissed, you bet… So I guess if you read the initial post there must have been some type of confrontation.  I guess if someone was an ass out there, then the old rule: “what comes around goes around” comes true.

So the bottom line is WE are all brothers and sisters in this sport.  So be nice and respectfull of each other.

Is that what stirred up all the "controversy"?

I was no where near that descriptive and someone felt the need to nuke my post?????

Lets not be naive Triplebrow, obviously what you posted there wasn't the problem. I haven't read the entire thread but must assume there was a whole lot more to it than that. Threads and posts are removed to keep the site from turning ugly, not to irritate individual members. You can relax, nobody removed one of your posts to piss you off or make you look bad, it must have been done to keep the peace.

One last thing...

Everyone needs to look at the number of posts an individual has on a site.   If the season is going to start and the dude is just fishing and not are real participant on this site "say 3 posts" should think about giving information.  But if it is a draw of a life time and he / she has been on here and participates then one should consider supporting them.

Now I'm more confused.  If my post wasn't a problem then why would it be deleted? You just said that posts are not deleted here with out justification and good reason.  Not trying to stir the pot but instead make sense of the situation.  If someones post in a thread is a problem then why not delete that post rather than all of them?   It doesn't piss me off nor make me look bad and I never said that it did, I just wanted clarification as to why "my" post was removed if it was with in the site rules that I agreed to when registering.

Thanks

Huntnphool, also if there is a way for you to go back and read it, please do, rather than assume.  (in refernce to my post that was nuked)
