Sorry guys, been a busy few days.  Hunting has been jockied between camp duties and chores.  Plan was to stall, waiting for my 'coffee bear' to show.  Trying to use the hottest days for chores.  Probly not the best idea, and it caught up to me Thursday, trying to build fence in 88 degree weather.   A quart of Pediolyte followed by a CoorsV8 and a 3 hour nap, I thought I was back on par for a Friday hunt.  The only bear I had seen driving around was a cub with milk on his lips.  I'm sure momma bear was in the brush waiting.  I had made a few short hikes in some bottoms, sit and call with no response.  Friday, got up early and hunted some bottoms from camp.  Spotted a nice reddish colored bear that looked decent at 100 yards.  Dropped at my shot.  A little ground shrinkage, which was a blessing.  Not sure I had fully recovered and don't think I would have managed saving hide and meat on a bigger bear, considering how hot in was Friday.  Blessing was killing it in the cool morning.  For a first bear I'm happy with a young boar.
I was getting short on time, not having last week to hunt.  I know there are bears still out there waiting for anyone still holding a tag.

Maybe someone can fix the upside down world.  Taxidermist measured it at 5'.  Guess I should have put a quarter on its nose for scale.
