Heading to Riffe, anyone been there recently
« on: June 25, 2020, 09:45:34 AM »
Heading to Riffe this weekend.  Have a few honey holes and always scratch out fish even on a bad day.  Anyone been recently?  How's it been this year?  Last couple years average take home has been 18+"..  Hoping for another good year.

Was awesome last week. Go bigger on the lures to keep the 10 inch triploids off. Caught nice ones from 60ft deep to top water reeling it in

right on, thanks guys..  I typically fish the small hoochies and avoid the wedding rings for that reason.  You fishing bigger then the small hoochie?

and yes, I hit the damn and far shoreline quite a bit.

Ditto on the triploids.  Had to keep the gear down at 60' and tip with a bit of shrimp.  Dodgers pulling a hoochie was the ticket.

I hope I can get back over in the next week or two for a couple days. My brother lives over on that side so he’s sending me pics of limits everyday he has off or he works the late shift. Smoked the ones from last week and they were awesome.

well...  Plenty of action but a little disappointing.  Normally will limit with nice fish.  Take downs all day, plenty small ones on the granny rod up high.  Fished 45' all the way down to 100'.  Normally 75-100' is perfect for the kings.  Picked up 10+ triploids at 75' and deeper.  I was shocked, couldn't believe they were that deep.  Did keep a couple for dinner that night and they were not bad, but they don't compare to the silvers/kings in there.

Did get a couple of the 18" kings with orange hoochie behind a small fish flash though.
