Lake Eleanor is a beaut, and is halfway to Grand Park.  We did that once as kids-  camped/fished at Eleanor and hiked the next day to the park.

Anywhere up there is pretty buggy this time of year, so don't forget a thermacell or some deet (or both).

Frying pan off white pass is a good one this time of year. Camp on frying pan and fish little snow lake. I think its somewhere between 3 and 5 mile hike if I remember right

You could also check out Dewey lake or Crystal lakes off of Chinook pass. (Hwy 410).

Off hwy 410 take the old Weyerhaeuser mainline to the Greenwater lakes trail. Hike past them to either Lost lake or Echo lake. Some elevation gain, but not too bad. Fun fishing. Decent campsites.
Took my kid there a few years back and a small group of elk walked right by us.
