Anyone sign up ? I did for a B deer tag (looks like you’re allowed to get 2 B tags if selected).

As far as I am aware, the state did not "screw u" surplus list, it was the Alternate list they screwed up. Two different draws, alternate list is for deer, big game or elk combo's, surplus list is for doe and cow elk "B" tags.

you are right it was the alternate list that in their words in the email they said the draw got screwed up . I’m not complaining as I screwed myself for not putting in on time to begin with

I am curious, most folks just put in for deer B tags? Anyone putting in for elk B tags??? The ranch I hunt here in Montana has ample opportunity for cows, hunting started on the 15th of August with the correct tags, goes till Feb 15 on parts of the ranch, which I consider to long and brutal on the animals...but, that's for a different thread.

Yes, I drew a surplus cow tag for all of the 400 and 500 units. Is the ranch located in any of those units? Been 35 years since I have hunted Montana, but I am about done with this state.

The ranch I hunt is in region 5.  Did you purchase 2 cow elk B tags? Or are you counting your general tag? I know region 4 has the 004-00 cow tag, region 5 has the 005-00 , 595-00, pretty sure they do not overlap unless you have a general tag.

Just was notified for surplus Deer B MD... I was 680/700 in line, so if you have a high number on the B tag wait lists, there is a good chance you will have opportunity.
