It's not the Crocs' fault. I once bear hunted the high country for an entire weekend in Crocs. Our glassing spot was like 100 yards from our tent. Saw 8 bears that weekend, all of them in my Crocs.

But did you kill any? Killing one in crocs would be good.

I know he had to take those back country crocs off to go kill a goat once.  I was there for that, I was not there for this bear viewing trip that he speaks of.

I took a broken branch to the foot on a backpacking trip last year. Put a nice hole in my foot. It happened on the first day of the trip and I decided to tough it out. Result was a major infection and many painful days of soaking in Epsom salts.


I always worry with the new knives like Havalon or Gerber Vital, that i may some day take a blade through the boot. When in the field I ALWAYS make it a point to push and old blade deep into the ground at the base of a tree or some other place there is next to zero chance it will never cause injury to another. Mostly, I try to pack them back out with me though. 

Bummer your hunt got cut short. hope the toe heals well and you have better luck on the next adventure!

Yeah, punched right through the foam soles.   We pulled the stake when went to investigate what did it, I was thinking cut off branch or something. Found the stake and pulled it.

I don't hunt in Crocs, never have. Only wear them in camp to let the feet air out and still be able to walk around.

Anytime I'm in the back country and ride around a blind corner with the mules to find lamas in the trail, my life starts flashing before my eyes. I know one lady that had a bee hive result in a punctured lung and helicopter flight out of the Eagle Caps.

Yup.
Had some fire displaced goats at my place the last week.
Mules can't see them but can hear and smell them.

Lots of snort blowing, ears up, and ready to bolt going on. LOL

Forgive the ignorance but are Llamas something that makes mules freak out? Also, that is some scary stuff about that lady. Things like that make me happy I bought a SPOTX.
