Smoke wasn’t too bad.  The first evening it was fairly thick, but I blew through on Tuesday and mostly cleared up.  We didn’t see anyone else in the area. We saw a birdwatcher 2 miles in from the trailhead, and from there on, we cleared spider the entire way.  Bugs were thick this year.

Congrats and thank you for sharing the story.  I love the honesty from beginning to end.

Love the eye guards on that buck.

Congratulations on a great buck! Thanks for the motivation I’ve been waiting for the smoke to clear to get up there.

Better shot of the antlers, sorry for the tongue hanging.  The bees were all over it, didn’t want to get stung for a photo.

Good work!
If he hadn't hit the log, would he have kept tumbling?

He would have tumbled another 30 yards, but he probably would have stopped near there.
