Late Archery Eastside Elk General Units?
« on: October 02, 2020, 05:49:09 AM »
So, I got screwed over this year and into next year for elk hunting. Booked a guided hunt for archery and my guides couldn't find any elk on their private land due to heat, drought, smoke ... whatever. But, so i didn't get totally screwed over ... they deferred my hunt until next year and I'll be going rifle instead for 2021. I wanted to go west side archery for 2021, but whatever.

So anyways, wasted 2 weeks of vacation and I dont have any elk spots on the east side as I'm still relatively new to WA. I've looked at the WDFW prospects and the east side doesn't look all that great. I've also been perusing GoHunt Insider a little bit as well and need to do some more research. So what can you guys tell me about hunting east side late archery elk general units? I could care less if I shoot a cow, spike, bull, or even a bull that identifies as a cow  :chuckle: I'd just not like to waste this season, maybe learn some new country, and hopefully get on some elk. Shooting one would just be a bonus.

Deer and elk at the same time, any elk, should be some about.  Bulls will be at their worst, let the air out of a calf.  127 and 124 in the far east.

Check the regs. Many of the late season east side units are cows and spike only.

Check the regs. Many of the late season east side units are cows and spike only.

Central wa is spike only except gmu’s 334 and 335 are true spike and antlerless. There are a few units that are listed as any elk but your not going to find many elk in those units.
