Ocean beaches closed

How is it possible that Oregon beaches are safe for clamming but Washington are not
Oregon shows the test results but Washington doesn’t. Governor doesn’t want people out and about.  :bash:

Tests were high a week ago, especially Long Beach and one of the north ones, can't remember which.

I had reservations for a double dip digger weekend, total bummer but much better than keeling over dead from bad clams.

Conspiracy theory partially debunked   Only Long Beach tested high but they closed the entire state to razor clamming :bash:

It is true he doesn't want people out, but no relation to the toxin reports.  Looks like it's pretty much Long Beach spiking.  Total bummer, I'm 0/2 on the clam digs this year.

Like said - closed all even though all except Long Beach are well below limit.

This post got me “Long Hunter” status

Last data posted was 5 days ago, I bet they got results today and closed it and will post the data in the next day or two.  Looks like LB is skyrocketing, so at least a few of the others are likely following.

Plus, the mob isn't smart enough to know which beach is closed and which is open.

WDFW has already seen significantly higher than normal participation on recent digs. To avoid concentrating clam diggers and disproportionately increasing the risk of COVID-19, razor clam beaches are closed statewide--though only Long Beach clams exceeded safe concentrations of domoic acid levels so far.

Ok, that’s BS.  If you can sit touching someone in a plane on vacation, go to an indoor gym no mask, go to a casino, go to any park or trail, whatever, you can safely clam outside.

This comes from a card carrying mask wearer.
