dbllunger,
Do you have any more pictures of that buck your daughter shot?  Like one from the front or one from the rear?  I'm strangely suspicious that we shot/missed at that buck Friday morning...

Mike, How far (area wise in distance) from the 3pt was the one you missed?  No pictures from the back, but this one from the side.  I have more on my camera but can not down load until later.

Nope different buck now that I see that view...  It was in the same general area of where that 3 point was...  Actually about 250 yards from him... lol  In the other picture of your buck he looks more like a 4x3 with small kicker off the 3 side... totally different buck from this view.

Have a picture of the second buck also.  Should have took more the first few days, but I was more worried about finding a big shooter.  Finally took the time to enjoy the hunt and relax so snapped a few pics.

you guys should all start new threads with all these great deer...it's getting tough to keep track of all of them.

Jack, I have a 150.00 cheap digital and if the deer is more then 100yds away I have to max out the zoom and they don't turn out very good.  Either max it out or simply see a deer.

what i'm saying is you should start a new thread about the deer your daughter killed. post the pics and the story in a new thread. you have your own thread for your deer, and so does everyone else. it's easier to keep track of and for everyone to see them.

Are you going off of the horn confiquration for quessing its a cross, or is does he have a whitetail tail or whitetail ears.  Just from what Ive heard the horns alone are pretty hard to just judge off of.  with the very few whitetails up there in the high country I would guess it to be a pure mule deer, may be wrong though.  What a beautiful buck michael, you sure are doing a great job helping other hunters out way to go...  Keep the pictures coming.

Great deer guys and little gal.  Wish I shot a buck like that when I was 10 also.  Sheesh, I wish I shot a  buck like that this year.  :)

Michael....looks like your havin' fun up there dude.  Keep the pics coming.

I'm with Jackelope....we should start new individual threads.  Definately easier the keep track of.

OK, Will add a new post with her deer alone, and a full story on her hunt.  Sorry to agree with others but that deer is not a cross but simply a 3pt mulie.  My understanding is the only way to confirm is with tarsel gland measurements.  We watched that buck for over two hours from less then 100-300yds away including him wizzing on his self several times.  There was education for my daughter on what he was doing and showed her the tarsels (what he was peeing on).  Now I did not get a chance to measure the actuall gland length, but  unless he is a freak cross his tarsel gland area appeared just like the other Mule deer bucks I have seen.

I wouldn't call that a cross at all either.

Guys I see what you're talking about... I'll snap a few pictures today and show you what I'm talking about... He's got a real short nose and his face is shaped like a white tail, his ears are extremely small and also shaped like a whitetail, as is his horn configuration.  He also has the haircoat that closely resembles a white tail (more tan, with ZERO grey in it, and judging by the many people who have seen white tails in the area he was shot in, I'm 90% sure he's 1/2 white tail...  There was 2 other guys there including the father, and another guy who we met that had also seen white tails there before who agreed with was 1/2 white tail.  I'll get some pictures for you guys today...

It goes to much more than horn configuration, and if I were to picture in my head what a cross would look like, this deer fit the profile in every way.  But I could VERY EASILY be wrong.
