Stevens County in December?
« on: December 08, 2020, 09:00:40 PM »
I still have two turkey tags left and I finally can go hunting again Dec 18 or thereabouts. Is Stevens County still good for nuisance turkeys mid- to late-December? Do they flock up at the lower elevations?

Yes and yes, the later the better, for best success you need access to private property where they flock up,

Drove from Spokane to South Canada on Sunday they were everyplace.

Was working and had the shop door open and had a couple even start inside until they saw me.   :chuckle:

Once the snow hits you get 200 to 300 bird flocks near cattle and/or hay operations. Turkey is dumb but they seem to pass on the feed locations to the next generation, so they will frequent areas in winter that provided food in winters long past. Just plan on driving in snow and inclement weather. You should have a blast.
