Stevens county gobblers
« on: April 20, 2009, 06:47:20 AM »
Whiskeydrinker and I knocked a couple toms down on Fri. The hunting was pretty tough with the toms pushing their hens deep into the thick stuff and not responding very well during the day. Finally we had a setup that worked and got a double! The tom i shot had an 8 1/2 inch beard but was missing most of his fan- looked like a coyote or something got ahold of him. I think the hunting will be alot better in a few weeks....

lewy: these are great birds. I'm compiling all the Turkey Hunting stories from the Hunt-WA site into a single document. If you want to elaborate on your adventure with a little detail I'll include it in the stories doc and make it available to everyone on the site towards the end of the Turkey Season. Thanks.
