I am ready for bear season
« on: February 28, 2021, 04:52:37 PM »
This is one of the first years I have ever planned my hunting a year before. I am excited and there is a lot to be thankful for. No matter what you got going on. Life rolls on.
I’d like to say that last year was my first year harvesting a black bear. It was difficult as I had been trying for awhile. I had been to late for berries at the hunting locations I had tried in the previous years.
With that being said my first bear came in alpine berry patch. I just picked a spot on a map near my home and researched the correct time for berries. There were four bears where I went to my surprise.
To all the new bear hunters on here. We have a ton of resources here on this website as well as hunters that will personally take you to spots for bear.
The best tool for harvesting a bear is research on the inter web , but nothing will compare and be most successful than getting out there.
I am stoked for bear season. Maybe a spring bear permit...fingers crossed or just being able and healthy enough to get out there and do the damn thing.
I am really excited to get out into the woods. [/img][/img]

My annual bear trip may be some of my favorite hunting days. Not super hard work, lot of glassing and a lot of critters to look at! Hoping to draw or tag along on a spring tag to scratch the itch.

Well I had to change powders in my load for the 7mm.
So I have another range trip ,maybe two , I don't know.
But I'm always ready and I have a backup rifle that I know is sighted in.
I'm always ready ,it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they did spring draw now.
I need to put in for days off,go through my day bag from fall seasons.

I am ready for bear season as well. The weather yesterday had me really feeling like it was actually spring. Not too much longer though!!

Doing some sight in practice today.
It should make the let down of not drawing a spring permit feel even better.
