Never used it, but I bet it would work great. Descent price! I would buy it if in the market.

I use a stainless steel attachment for my kitchenaid mixer. It was about $150 from smokehouse chef. I use it often and when finished it all goes in the dishwasher for easy clean up.

Westin makes pretty solid equipment and it is a 1 go so it should do a fine job.  Best part is.....if it doesn’t, Costco will take it back.   I say go for it.

Narrow neck, limited feed, slow death if you ask me...5lbs a minute rating...ugh.. .if price is a concern try it I guess.

But imo not worth the hassle if your doing a couple deer/ elk a year.  :twocents:

I have a Weston #8  3/4 hp grinder. It works great. I have processed 3 deer and 2 elk with it. It will probably work good.  :twocents:

They have a good return policy.  I would bet it’s not close to 1 hp just looking at it.

I think something is screwed up between the ad and picture and description. The picture certainly isnt a 1 horse unit, a 1 hp should grind much more than 5 lb per minute and doubtful you are getting any actual 1 hp grinder for $140.

It's got the small #12 neck size so you would only be able to fit like 1-2" junks in it.  Thus limiting the amount to you grind .
I think the bigger units have a #22 neck . I know I can drop a 5lb junk of meat in my big Cabela's grinder and it spits it out in about 5 seconds.

Looks like this until weighs 13lbs....so half to a third of the weight of commercial style grinders...for what's it's worth.  :twocents:
