I hope so.  After stocking up on powder and primers, I am down to 300 168 VLDs.  Not a good feeling.

7mm bullets seem like there gone in seconds every time ,in stock,or available, GONE that quick. At least the hunting. Bullets.

30 cal seems like has the best options for the reloader right now. Wish it would rain on the east side ,so I can go target shooting.

Honestly don't feel too good about the sst

I shot my bear with a 300 win pushing a 180gr sst at 3000fps at 200 yds and it took 3 shots. All vitals and hit the heart twice. Had one pass through and the other two were blown up and the jacket was tucked on the opposite side hide. I think I still have them somewhere I'd have to dig deep but not great weight retention in my limited experience.

I shoot monos mostly now thanks California

But they have excellent weight retention and 9/10 you will not find it as it blows through. The biggest thing is making them expand at distance.

Btw they did shoot great out of my gun at the time I was using them.

Since most are enamored with the sexy SST, Barnes and Berger bullets, I have had luck finding, my go to, Partitions every once in a while.

Guess I’ll just keep on slumming with old school bullets. :chuckle:

I’ve seen quite a few partitions on the shelves locally.  Great bullets.

i couldn't complain about my component situation with the shortages in the last year because i'm normally well stocked.  however, i bought a 7x57 rifle last winter and had no components at all to start with.

fortunately i found brass online, and a few different bullets locally, at least enough to work up a good hunting load with.

what seems kind of interesting is that there seems to be 7mm match bullets readily available, but hunting bullets are pretty much unobtainium.  i figure the hoarders would be going after the cheaper match bullets, not expensive premium hunting bullets.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

What 7mm bullet are you looking for?  I see some on the shelves locally and might have a box or two as well that I won't use.

Mainly nosler accubond 160
Nosler balistic tips 150
Speer hot cor 160
Is what I'm always look in for.
I'm not completely out of stock or nothing.
Just seems like supply is low these days with shortages on everything.
From a few of the above posts ,sounds like I need to look a little harder.
Thanks guys.

I shot a bear twice last year with .308 sst. Once through the heart once into the neck both bullets performed horribly and turned into many tiny pieces. Personally I won’t shoot them again.
