Is Anyone Loading Their Own 10MM??

 I am thinking about loading my own HOT 10mm for my Glock 20 instead of buying the high end defense loads... similar to Buffalo Bore... Is anyone doing that? What is your load/ experiences doing this?
This would be for backing for 4 and 2 legged varmints in the west and Alaska.

I had some Underwood ammo I broke down to see what’s in it and was able to replicate it without having pressure signs


Using 200gr xtps and pushing them at 1250+


Running them in a stock g40

I just bought a Glock 20, since ammo is still hard to find I loaded my own.  Starting out in mid range with my gun new and all.  With my barrel out of the frame I dropped a loaded bullet into the chamber only to find it rattling around in there.  I grabbed my Glock 19 and tried a 9mm round in it and it was snug.  So the I grabbed the ball gages and my micrometer, my chamber is .013" bigger then my round.  So my brass would be stretching each time I loaded the case then shot it.  Plus Glock will tell you not to shoot lead bullets out of their stock barrel.  With these two factors I ordered an aftermarket barrel for mine then will be shooting my reloaded brass out of it.  Dreadi maybe you can give some input on what I mentioned?

Yes, max load of HS-6, 180 gr Speer TMJ-FP.

I've had great luck with Longshot, loaded with 180gr xtp's.   If you look at ballistic gel tests, the 180's and 200's had about identical penetration, with 180's shooting a little flatter.   

I have also heard Blue dot, and 800X powder work great.

Shooting reloads will void your warranty. Lead bullets are fine in Gen 5 Glock pistols.

i've been wanting to load my own "hot" ammo for my glock 29.  i bought it during the early days of covid when factory ammo was still "mostly" available, but by the time i got around to thinking about loading for it, dies and brass had completely dried up.  not necessarily planning on doing it to reuse brass, but more because there doesn't ever seem to be much heavy 10mm available locally, and you seem to have to pay dearly for it.  my glock seems to spit empties way out into the weeds so i feel lucky if i recover 1/3 of my brass anyhow.

i had heard blue dot is the ticket for heavy cast loads.  i'm not concerned about leading, as i put a kkm barrel in my pistol.

When you crimp, you want to take out the bell just enough for the round to slip into the glock chamber and it should be a bit loose, you don't want it tight.  You don't need an aftermarket barrel but if it makes you feel better, just use coated lead bullets with the hi-tek type coating.

Buy a .40/10mm Lee FCD. It puts a perfect taper crimp on your cases and also resizes the entire body of the case again to ensure it will fit easily into your chamber. Excellent investment. I have them for all of my auto loading pistol cartridges and I’ve never had a malfunction.

Ya, I love mine. 1250fps. Love tbe 10mm, you definitely know you have a great handgun with one.

I like the 200gr bullet from Montana Bullet Works over Alliant 2400. I've shot this combo in a few different 10mm pistols with good results. Start at 9.5gr and work up until the gun tells you to stop. I'm at 1275fps with 11.5gr of 2400 in a 5" Kimber with a 22# variable weight recoil spring, 28# hammer spring, and a flat-bottom firing pin stop. I don't know if I'd go that high in a Glock or other stock pistol though.
