Giving consideration to body size, antler characteristics, and the color of the bulls. So I say I5 is irrelevant in determining sub-species and look at the elk in the area your hunting and the heards ability to migrate (if they do) to the Eastside. All the bulls I posted in previous posts are without a doubt roosies regardless of how they would be placed in any of the record books.
