Beautiful, heavy buck!  Sounds like a great hunt.  Must have been rutty for you to detect him by scent!

Congratulations.

Congrats on a big ole buck!

Both of my daughter's deer were very musky as well.  Something in the weather this year, they have been acting super rutty early this year.

A very Fine animal Mike!! Congrats again and way to get it done!!

Appreciate the kind compliment. It means allot Keith. Thanks for the encouragement, e-mail correspondence, and phone calls helping me to understand those wily bucks and the country they live in. If I can do it ANYONE can!

Ken and I weighed all the meat, bones, hide, head and scraps. The only thing we guessed was the gut pile and organs which we arbitrarily decided was 60# pounds. That PISS WALLOPER weighed 315# pounds !!!!!!
Waaaaaaaaaay more than I GUESSED. Which was 260# pounds. Facts and data brother, facts and data!

Mike, you don't give yourself nearly enough credit. You've spent more time in those woods than anyone I know. That buck was well earned, my friend!

I'd be real interested in hearing what that translates into in terms of meat! I always weigh my meat but have never weighed anything else. I could do some back calculating!
