Dad here. I'm the old geezer in the pictures  :chuckle: Dane is correct on all counts. From the planning through driving up to the house after the trip every aspect of our trip was special
The people we met along the way, the country, the wildlife and so much more. This is my 49th year of climbing mountains chasing those yellow butts. It's getting harder and this trip was no exception. This was my first guided hunt and I'd book again with the same outfit. The country is so raw and wild it's hard to describe. The story alluded to three magnificent bulls we watched traverse that long ridge. We named them the "3 Kings".  The country they inhabit truly is the top of the world. It struck me how they get so big. Country so steep, rocky and very open up top where they can watch for danger. I felt blessed to have witnessed that.

My son and daughter significantly helped to fund this hunt as my retirement gift. How does a dad thank his children for such a gift? Again I'm blessed. Our third partner in crime, Cory is like a son to me and I look forward to him joining us each fall. Between those two bums I couldn't pay for darn near anything on our trip.

Bucket list hunt? Yep. Hunt of a lifetime (for me) again yep. Quite an adventure. I faced some of my demons on this trip. Riding mules up, down and across cow face steep mountains. Hunting in grizzly country and sleeping at high altitude with both sleep apnea and A-fib. I'm ready for our next adventure. Great write up buddy boy!!

Really enjoyed the read and the pictures. Father and son trips are the ones you never forget, and they become so much more rare when life has everyone busy.

JP, I hope you post the story. I'd love to hear how your hunt goes too...

Awesome write up and great documentation of the trip along the way.  Beautiful, but harsh country.
Loved the pics of your kids labeling the packages of meat, brings back lots of memories of me and my sisters doing the same thing. Was kind of challenging for my mother to decipher what was in some of the packages coming out of the freezer, she had to go find the "artist" for translation. :chuckle:
