Removing scratches on stainless
« on: November 14, 2021, 08:17:51 AM »
Is there a good way to remove surface scratches like these on stainless?  It seems like every effort I have seen results in the area being way shinier than the rest of the gun.  The original finish is somewhat matte, and it would be nice to make it look better.......something short of an entire re-finish of the revolver.

If the only answer is a complete refinish, is there anyone in the area who does good work?

The problem is the scratching is probably deeper than the matte finish. To get to the scratches you’re going through the matte finish.

Thanks.....that makes perfect sense.  That's probably why guns I've seen where it's been tried have that "shiny" area.

Found a website for Arden Gun, in Colville, WA.  They offer refinishing of firearms to factory specs.

Does anyone here have any experience with Arden Gun?
